The Softness of my Peaceful Flower Collection Part 1

These four flowers
My Peaceful Flower Décor Collection includes four flowers (so far!) that I have been thinking about and wanted to share some of the thoughts that have occurred to me as I look at them and gain an understanding of why they mean so much to me. It is in this time of just gazing at them and becoming aware of what I am wanting to convey through the colors, lines, exposure, focal points, depth of field of focus, composition and finally the background (or lack thereof) that brings to life why I took this photo and how it might enter your life as you set the tone in your own personal space.

In the past I tended to purchase things as a one piece at a time shopping moment and not really think about it as an entire room that felt like a relaxing, or whimsical and playful, or creative contemplative place to be. I considered the item and not necessarily the entire space I was creating a vibe in. It was not really my surprise to consider that other people purchase that way as well, too. I think stores sell that way as well as selling the entire concept of how they see a room. (It makes me think of a Dillard’s room set up vs Walmart room isle in the store)

Armed with this thought and concept playing out in my mind and a sister who understood this concept on a daily basis as an architect, I knew that I would be able to have multiple conversations about how my photos came to life in that construct as a foundation for me in bringing my collection to fruition. I found that very exciting on multiple levels of creativity and organizing my photo collections from start to finish. I found that it helped me develop (ha ha ha) as a photographer as well, both in the field and at the editing table as well. It also helped me create this blog to share how empowering it is to choose the photos you create your personal space with consciously infusing it with the details and touchstones that you mean to because they speak to you because they bring about a space that supports you and what you want to feel in your life. I find it enriching.
